QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a quantitative discipline. For example mathematics, statistics or computer science
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications (Ms Excel) and coding experience advantageous
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders Skills in building and maintaining working relationships with peers, colleagues and external stakeholders

Responsibilities:

The Portfolio Risk Analyst is responsible for contributing to the Bank’s Second Line of Assurance (2LoA) by ensuring that the identification, measurement, evaluation and monitoring of credit risks are performed in accordance with the Bank’s risk management framework (RMF). This includes assistance with enabling robust data analytics enabling monitoring and reporting on the credit risk portfolio via queries and extraction of data from the DWH.
Work cooperatively and positively with other data analysts, including from other business units, to ensure the effective and efficient use of data and that strategic goals in relation to data quality and management can be met over time.
Challenge the status quo to question the way things are done in a constructive manner that leads to an effective and efficient outcome.
