Description:

Ganawa is a custom steel fabricator and full-service supplier for the bridge construction industry and a variety of other structural steel markets. We offer an extensive range of products and services, including the fabrication of bridge expansion joints and railing systems and custom steel fabrication. Due to recent upgrades, we immediately need a Robotic Welding Technician to support operations at our new Bowmanville facility.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • Post-secondary education in Welding, Welding Technician or combination of relevant education and work experience
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience with robotic welders
  • Ability to weld manually, MIG (GMAW)
  • Ability to create/modify robot programs
  • Ability to execute scheduled preventative maintenance tasks
  • Solid computer literacy
  • Excellent ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Commitment to health and safety
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Proven time management and multitasking skills
  • Must have a valid G license

Responsibilities:

Tasks and duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Set-up, program, repair and maintain robotic welder
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues (hardware, software, mechanical, etc.)
  • Investigate reasons and recommend solutions to reduce weld defects
  • Develop and maintain welding process data sheets
  • Schedule preventive maintenance with suppliers and or internal maintenance personal
  • Ensure that all equipment is tested, maintained and operating as per manufacturer’s specifications and at peak performance
  • Review and recommendation of new components or equipment as required
  • Assist in training manual weld operators
