Description:
Main Purpose
The Rolling Stock Engineer will ensure that the rolling stock design will fit with the O&M organization developed during the tender stage. The role ensures that the WSA rollingstock is understood by O&M to ensure that RDWSA is able to effectively operate and maintain the RST.
Main Responsabilities
- General
Ø Support the asset management activity (asset register, documentation production, life cycle cost,
organization,…)
Ø Support the safety processes defined by the O&M HSEQ Director
Ø Support the risk assessment and management
Ø Contribute to the production of the project/management plan
Ø Contribute to the configuration management
Ø Participate in the different workshops and develop the evidences (technical notes) with
arguments to explain our O&M position
- Rolling stock
Ø Review and assess the RST mission profile (mileage per year, power on, running on,…)
Ø Review and finalize the O&M Additional Requirements with RST/DWE/IMV/SMF Team
Ø Elaborate and share with D&C team the operation and maintenance concept from the O&M
operation & maintenance plan
Ø Review and comment the specification documents produced by RST Team, DWE/IMV Team and
SMF Team in accordance to Design Stage as per the PS-05 section 4.8 (functional, degraded
modes, reports, interfaces, drawings, ) with focus on operability and maintainability
Ø Study with RST team the following topics: Traction : independent command per axle ideally, if not
per bogie, Braking System : brake pads solution, Pantograph : carbon strips solution, automatic
drop device, Filter for HVAC: accessibility, filter type, cleaning and replacement frequency, Doors
with preference for European supplier, Wheels, Rail interface with noise & vibration, Automatic
Coupling)
Ø Contribute and assess the technical interfaces (Overhead Catenary System/Pantograph,
Wheel/Rail Running Interface, Noise and Vibration, RST/DWE, RST/SMF and DWE/SMF)
Ø Review and assess the Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) and SHL (System Hazard Log) at
Rolling Stock level,
Ø Review and assess the Sub-Systems of the RST/DWE/IMV Hazard Identification (SSHI) Sub-
System Hazard Analysis (SSHA) Sub-System Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
WORK/JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years in Railway environment
- Driverless metro maintenance position (production lead and or engineering lead) more than 5 years
- Experience in Rolling Stock maintenance during operation phase
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Diploma / Degree in Engineering or B.Sc./M.Sc. with Physics / Electronics/ Power Supply / Computer Science
English language (Fluent)
Preferred Skills
- Minimum 5 years in Railway environment
- Driverless metro maintenance position (production lead and or engineering lead) more than 5 years
- Experience in Rolling Stock maintenance during operation phase Well-developed written and oral communication skills in English
