Jardeg is recruiting Rope Access Technicians (Welders, Pipefitters and Level 3’s) to join the Heartland Constructors Inc. team at the IOL KEARL site near Fort McKay, Alberta. Charter flights are provided by the company from Calgary or Edmonton. While working on-site, workers will be staying at the Wapasu camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facilities, Wi-Fi, commissary and much more! We also have new HIGHER rates for all craft workers!
The positions are for our spring TURN AROUND STARTING IN MAY working 11.5 hours per day (2 x 30 minutes breaks, 1 paid, 1 unpaid).
Rope Access Technicians used in a wide range of repair, maintenance, inspection and access work. Rope access methodology boasts an unrivalled safety record, short set-up and dismantling time, positive environmental benefits and removes the need for invasive access equipment or disruption to a worksite.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in rope access techniques and equipment
  • Solid technical skills as a Rope Access Technician is ideal.
  • Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on structures and equipment at heights using rope access techniques.
  • Conduct rigging and rope systems for safe access and egress
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools and heavy equipment to complete assigned tasks
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Proficiency in rope access techniques and equipment
  • Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairs
  • Solid technical skills as a Rope Access Technician is ideal.

Minimum Requirements:

  • IRATA Level 1, 2 or 3 Certification is required.
  • Certified B-Pressure Welders, CWB Welders, Pipefitters, Insulators and Electricians are considered an asset.
  • Standard First Aid (Level C or A)
  • ESC Common Safety Orientation
  • ESC Wood Buffalo / Wildlife Awareness
  • ESC Confined Space & Monitor
  • Valid Driver’s License
