Description:

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and skilled radiographer to join our team in Neuroradiology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. It’s a great opportunity to work in MRI whilst working in a specialised hospital. We are proud of the service we provide to patients and would expect the successful candidate to have a patient centred approach with the ability to communicate effectively. You will be working in a truly multidisciplinary team with undergraduates, trainee radiologists, surgeons and junior radiographers so good teaching skills are essential.
The department offers interventional, 3T and 1.5T MRI, CT, angiography and plain film. We are in the middle of an equipment replacement program and have recently installed a dual energy CT, 3 MRI scanners and 2 angio rooms with top of the range equipment. With a new iMRI suite currently being installed.
The department has a comprehensive MRI training program to support radiographers who wish to build on their existing MRI skills. The department offers support for CPD and all staff are actively supported in this area.
Participation in an extended working day, weekend and out of hours service is essential.
The Neuroradiology Department offers a service to Neurology, Neurosurgery and Stroke.
The successful applicant will be a keen team player who has image quality, patient care and safety high on their agenda with a flexible approach to working hours.
The post holder will liaise with the other modalities to ensure that room utilisation is maximised, prioritising patients to ensure optimum efficiency and service quality ensuring all data inputs on PACS and EHRS are accurately recorded in order to maintain integrity of data for both patients and the service
To ensure the safety of patients, staff and visitors to the Neuroradiology Department
To ensure a high standard of patient care and participate in the monitoring of standards
The successful candidate will be expected to participate and lead in departmental and divisional activities such as Health and Safety, Audit, Research, Clinical Governance and investigation of adverse incidents and complaints
