Position Summary:
Acuren is in search of a skilled RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) Pilot - Advanced Operations who is enthusiastic about cutting-edge technology and aerial inspections. We are seeking a skilled RPAS Pilot to conduct advanced drone operations, specializing in collision-tolerant drone inspections of confined spaces, external asset inspections, flare stacks, tanks, and bridges. This position is for individuals who are not only certified drone operators but also possess expertise in industrial site operations, 3D modeling with LiDAR, GIS, and Infrared Thermography.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct RPAS operations using collision-tolerant drones for confined space inspections.
  • Utilize the DJI Matrice 300 or similar drones for external asset inspections, including flare stacks, tanks, and bridges.
  • Perform aerial inspections and surveys at industrial sites, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Generate 3D models and capture LiDAR data for site mapping and analysis.
  • Use GIS software to process and analyze geographical data collected during drone operations.
  • Perform Infrared Thermography inspections for identifying temperature anomalies in industrial equipment and infrastructure.
  • Maintain and repair drones and related equipment as needed.

Requirements:

  • Valid Canadian Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate (RPAS Ground School and Flight Review) or equivalent.
  • Canadian ROC-A License
  • Extensive experience in operating drones for industrial applications.
  • Familiarity with the DJI Matrice 300 or similar drones for external asset inspections.
  • Strong 3D modeling skills using LiDAR technology.
  • Proficiency in GIS software and geographical data analysis.
  • Experience with Infrared Thermography for equipment and infrastructure inspections.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Safety-conscious and able to follow strict operational guidelines and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site inspections when required.
  • Additional certifications or training related to drone operations, industrial safety, or related fields are a plus
