About the role
A new Full Time position has arisen for an experienced and energetic Front Office Duty Manager to join our dedicated hotel management team!

Key responsibilities:

  • Optimise Hotel occupancy being aware of room’s availability and rates
  • Assist and supervise the training and development of new staff
  • Ensure that grooming standards are adhered to according to QT standards
  • Ensure public areas are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and politely
  • Perform specified computer system maintenance as requested by Systems supervisor.
  • Assist with check ins/check outs and porters duties when required
  • Assist with Housekeeping duties as required
  • Assist with Food & Beverage duties as required
  • Assist with Conference & Events duties as required
  • Assist with Night Auditor duties as required
  • Attend to guest requests/requirements in a timely and efficient manner including but not limited to: reservations issues, in-room equipment/maintenance issues and housekeeping issues
  • Undertake any other duties arising or as directed by the Department Head
  • Maintain hotel security procedures in co-ordination with hotel security staff
  • Ensure that shift is being run by the shift checklist
  • Be aware of group and conference VIP arrivals/departures and that all preparations are made for them
  • To have a high profile in the foyer, giving special recognition to regular/VIP guests
  • Follow up with any outstanding emails & guest requests and communicate when completed
  • Hotel walk around ensuring operating areas are performing and reporting on any issues
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and legal requirements

The position entails a roster of 5 weekly shifts totaling 38 hours. Shifts will be a combination of day and night shifts. Flexibility around our 7 day operation is essential.

Skills & experience

The ideal candidate should possess the following attributes:

  • Hospitality experience within a Night Auditor, Team Leader, Supervisor or Duty Manager role.
  • Experience with a similar role within a hotel.
  • A passion for the hospitality industry and a desire to grow your career within a recognised Hotel Brand.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of Opera system.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills.
  • A positive, team orientated approach with a passion for creating memorable hotel guest experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Initiative, creativity and a resourcefulness attitude towards all facets of hotel operations.
  • Notable organisational skills and good communication skills at all levels.
  • Provide support and guidance to all relevant departments when required.
  • RSA Certification & Approved Manager license desirable
  • First Aid Certificate desirable
  • Flexibility to assist across all departments where necessary
