About the role
This part-time position reports to the Restaurant Manager and is ideal for an industry professional looking for their next challenge and career advancement in a fast-paced hotel setting.
In collaboration with the restaurant manager, you will play a key role in the daily operations of our Vista Bar Lounge, ensuring the seamless delivery of services within the vibrant and inviting atmosphere of our hotel lounge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all guests and locals receive efficient, friendly, and professional service.
  • It is crucial to coordinate with guests, the Chef, and the kitchen brigade concerning the menu, guest feedback, and service-related issues.
  • Liaise with team to ensure venue standards are upheld
  • Proven supervisory or leadership experience, preferably within a similar hotel or bar/restaurant setting.
  • Assist with coordinating the cleaning and upkeep of outlets, workspaces, tableware, utensils, and various materials and equipment is crucial.
  • Support and motivate the operations team to consistently surpass client expectations.
  • Ensure that the revenue for the shift is accurately recorded, with a cash/charge summary completed to reconcile daily activities.
  • Previous experience working in a bar, restaurant or similar role with in-depth cocktail knowledge & profound Barista skills.
  • Previous leadership or supervisorial experience within a fine dining or premium service offering venue.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of, and adhere to, all established hotel occupational health and safety guidelines (WH&S).
  • Maintain safe environmental practices.
  • Give assistance to other departments or outlets when required.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Director of Food & Beverage and Food & Beverage Manager.

Skills & experience

  • A passion for food and beverage service and engaging with guests, consistently striving to find the ‘YES’ in every situation.
  • Excellent communication skills; including both verbal and written.
  • A hands-on approach with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Someone who can think outside the box to ensure continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work most weekends, a fixed 7-day roster that aligns with the Vista Lounge’s operating hours, including weekends and public holidays and that of all other Food & Beverage outlets in the hotel.
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
  • Must have valid Australian Working Rights as no sponsorships will be offered
