Description:

Position Title: Network Technician II Reports To: IT Manager Supervises: None

Summary of Position: Duties involve supporting all IT technical systems including but not limited to software, hardware, accessories, and providing effective end user support and service. This position performs the planning, installation, configuration and troubleshooting of network cabling. Responsible for performing all computer technician and IT helpdesk functions in addition to the network services support. Supports business systems, hardware, and software related to end user equipment, shared equipment (printers, point of sales, etc.) telecommunications, sound systems, TVs, media players, hotel guest side of network systems and services, in-room guest equipment, and business side of network systems and services.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and are subject to change at management’s discretion:
  • Performs work related to the IT Operations for Inn of the Mountain Gods, Casino Apache, and Ski Apache
  • Performs work running/installing network cable (Ethernet and fiber), terminating Cat6 network cable (keystones and RJ45 connectors), and testing for successful connections
  • Performs work with a variety of tools and equipment, such as cable toners and probes, network cable analyzers, network testers, punch-down tools, RJ45 crimp and termination tools, fiber cleaning kits, etc.
  • Performs work examining and repairing malfunctioning network cabling
  • Performs work configuring, installing, and troubleshooting VOIP phones using Cisco Call Manager
  • Performs work assisting end users with accessing VPN and troubleshooting issues with network accounts and/or MFA access
  • Provides support to IT Administrators, Engineers, and IT Management for incident management, projects, and operating tasks
  • Troubleshoot computer software and hardware issues, make repairs, and perform scheduled updates and maintenance
  • Solve routine and complex problems in the maintenance of computers, configurations, and peripheral components.
  • Conduct operational checks and replace defective parts and assemblies
  • Installs and configures operating systems and applicable business software on end user computers and laptops
  • Secures end user computers against cyber-attacks by installing antivirus software, Windows updates, and reducing security risks by disabling potentially vulnerable services such as Remote Desktop Protocol
  • Install and configure end user hardware such as computer towers, monitors, VOIP phones, printers/scanners, peripherals, department specific hardware,
  • Performs work with creating user network accounts and assigning user access levels relating to network access (Windows Active Directory/Microsoft Entra ID), Exchange and M365 mail systems, MFA, and a variety of business/software systems
  • Performs work related, but not limited, to our casino management system, financial systems, hotel management system, F&B management system and point of sale system, and other applicable business systems
  • Performs work for upgrades, troubleshooting, and new installations of hardware and software
  • Resolves end user application software issues and IT service requests
  • Performs work and supports the IT Department documentation, policies, procedures, and records
  • Performs work to support the IT Helpdesk by providing technical support for end users through various modes of communication including by phone, email, and web portal
  • Receive, prioritize, document, and actively resolve end user help requests
  • Performs work and supports the IT Department documentation and records
  • Performs work to support hardware and software inventories and asset management
  • Performs work and accountable to all projects and tasks assigned
  • Performs other requested work related to IT Department responsibilities as instructed by IT management
  • Support requirements for all aspects related to IT emergencies, standard and non-standard daily IT operations
  • Support requirements for all IT recoveries and protocols
  • Support requirements for escalation procedures
  • Ability to work effectively with equipment/software vendors
  • Maintains security, integrity, and compliance of networks and systems
  • Maintains security and integrity of network and systems
  • Maintain Confidentiality

3. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma and/or technical trade school certification or higher
  • 2 years or more experience working in the IT industry, preferably in a Casino/Resort environment
  • 1 year or more experience with at least three or more of the following: hotel management systems, casino management systems, food & beverage management systems, point of sale systems, purchasing and inventory control management systems, accounting systems, and software systems related to Casino business operations. Experience with InfoGenesis, Visual One, and OASIS 360 is a plus
  • Required to have a solid understanding of identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing Layer 1 network issues; Layer 2 network experience desired
  • Must have experience with T568b wiring standard, terminating shielded and unshielded network cable with RJ45 ends and keystone jacks
  • Required to have a solid understanding of using and troubleshooting Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft email systems
  • Required to be on-call for 24 hour availability
  • Required to adhere to all business and IT policies and procedures
  • Must have a strong customer focus and demonstrate ability to work well within a team and individually
  • Must have a commitment to high service quality and customer satisfaction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must work well under pressure with strong multi-tasking skills
  • Desired to have an Associate’s degree in technical field and/or equivalent experience
  • Desired to have A+, Network+, or similar certifications
  • Mescalero Apache Tribal preference, bicultural experience preferred
  • Must meet and maintain MATGC licensure and CJIS training requirements
  • Must have negative drug/alcohol test
