Summary of Responsibilities

Maintenance and implementation of the elements of the Urenco USA (UUSA) Safety and Emergency Response Programs in coordination with Safety and Emergency Response personnel; with

  • Primary responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of Emergency Plan requirements and commitments for the site
  • Primary responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of the elements of the Industrial Safety Program.

Education and Experience
The qualified candidate will have an Associate’s degree in Safety, Industrial Safety, Occupational Safety and Health or related field and 3 years of related experience. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Safety, industrial Safety, Occupational Health or other related degree from an accredited college or university, and 5 or more years of relevant experience.

The following skills are preferred:

  • Excellent writing skills with preferred experience being in writing procedures and/or training lesson plans.
  • The ability to confidently deliver training to groups from 5 to 100 persons.
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of industrial safety compliance standards and safety best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with personnel at all levels within an organization with emphasis on leadership, team building, and meeting organizational Objectives.
  • Self-motivated and driven to manage and complete projects/Assignments under short time constraints with little or no supervision.
  • Proven organizational and coordination skills.

Job Details

  • The work location for this position is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM.
  • Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
  • Travel Required: 20% of the time or less as required.
  • Security Clearance Requirement: Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required.
  • Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc.

Primary Functions

  • Actively demonstrate understanding of the UUSA Foundational Behaviors, company values and Urenco Behaviors.
  • Perform general safety and emergency tasks and activities as assigned by the Safety and Emergency Response Manager in support of the department.

Industrial Safety Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the maintenance and implementation of the UUSA industrial safety programs.
  • Lead the development and training of UUSA personnel in all aspects of industrial safety.
  • Maintain safety procedures, including periodic reviews and incorporation of improvements and changes in regulation or requirements.
  • Conduct Incident investigations.
  • Prepare and ensure the submission of regulatory reports.
  • Support the safety and Emergency Response personnel with primary responsibility for Emergency Preparedness.

Emergency Preparedness Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the maintenance and implementation of the UUSA Emergency Plan, including the Emergency Plan implementing procedures, Emergency Response Organization (ERO), related training programs, and emergency response facilities and equipment.
  • Lead the development of Emergency Drills, including scenarios, scheduling and Off Site Responder participation.
  • Foster working relationships with the Off Site Emergency Response Agencies, Including Off Site Agency training and support.
  • Assist with the development and training og site employees to support all aspects of industrial safety.
  • Maintain safety procedures, including periodic reviews and incorporation of improvements and changes in regulations or requirements.
  • Support the Safety and Emergency Response personnel with primary responsibility for Industrial Safety.
