Description:

We are seeking a diligent Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team situated in CANTON, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting safety trainings, monitoring safety performance, carrying out inspections and audits, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, allowing you to transition into a key role within our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site-specific safety training for new hires and company visitors.
  • Monitor employee safety performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Carry out regular inspections and audits to ensure safety equipment is available and used correctly.
  • Conduct studies on potential workplace hazards and report findings to the manager.
  • Evaluate equipment for potential safety hazards and take necessary actions.
  • Ensure adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and conduct site inspections.
  • Assist with investigations into incidents and provide detailed reports.
  • Communicate emergency response plans to all employees.
  • Monitor all safety procedures and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Manager for on-site management of safety issues.
  • Possess expertise in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and guidelines
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting safety training sessions
  • Proven ability to perform safety inspections and audits
  • Familiarity with safety equipment and its appropriate usage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is a plus
