Safety, Health and Environment Specialist

ChampionX has an immediate need for an SHE Specialist located in Leduc, AB.
The SHE Specialist will be primarily responsible for carrying out and coordinating the safety program. This role will be based in a chemical manufacturing plant and will require working with others on various initiatives and safety related programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

• 1-3 years of previous experience in a health and safety capacity
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a field related to health and safety
• Strong knowledge in occupational health and safety procedures and governing regulations (i.e., provincial, federal)
• Advanced computer skills with knowledge in MS Suite
• Ability to interpret regulations and be informed of recent changes related to Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to carry out investigations with a problem-solving mindset
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong attention to detail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing facility.
• Accreditation related to health and safety (i.e, CRSP).
• Process Safety Management knowledge
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Knowledge of environmental impacts and strategies for waste reduction
