What’s on offer?
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Safety Manager to join our Sydney Airport SESAD project team. Working closely with Sydney Airport this project comprises development of six aircraft parking bays. Scope of works will also include the extension and widening of existing taxiways to make it easier to access the new parking aprons. This multi-million project will provide essential infrastructure to Sydney Airport with expected growth in passengers.
You will help lead our “Living Safely” values throughout the project while, encouraging and educating teams on best practice approaches to safety. Looking after all safety aspects of the IMS, standards, legislation and guidelines enabling the development of a proactive and robust safety culture. You will also:
- Participate in developing and reviewing processes for the safety aspects of the IMS ensuring appropriate implementation;
- Report on the safety performance of the IMS and any need for improvement as required;
- Provide guidance, and where required, lead liaison with safety regulatory authorities e.g. State Departments, including incident notifications;
- Schedule and conduct audits to assess the safety performance of the IMS;
- Conduct and review safety audits, incidents etc. at planned intervals to ensure the IMS’s continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness;
- As required mentor or train workplace personnel in regards to the safety aspects of the IMS, and
- Conduct investigations to identify underlying causes of non-conformances, near misses and incidents to prevent reoccurrence.
Your proven experience leading teams within a project environment will stand you in good stead for the role. Your strong attention to detail, the ability to influence and promote a safety culture, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team will set you up well in the team. As this is a leadership role, you will need to bring a coaching mindset to drive best practice outcomes across the project.
