Description:
3 month contract temp role - Hybrid | on site for an experienced Safety Officer| Advisor.
You will need to be able to start by the 15th April
Location : Abbotsford/Richmond, Melbourne
IDEAL EXPERIENCE:
- No one day will be the same and much of your day will be spent assessing and conducting site safety checks and equipment needed to manage land excavation work, including dealing with livestock, wildlife and cutting grass before any excavation work can commence.
- Experience in an outdoor safety function i.e civils construction, agri or similar field.This is a 5 day FTE role with travelling between sites in Victoria and the office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum requirement : Cert IV in Work Health and Safety or other relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
Experience :
- Minimum of 3 -5 year’s experience in a similar role with an emphasis on outdoor safety related issues, wildlife management, livestock, cultural understanding and appreciation for 1st peoples
- Experience working with First Nations Peoples would be highly advantageous.
- Highly developed working knowledge of work Health and Safety matters, legislation and safety management processes.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A positive and professional leadership approach, sound judgement, and the resilience and skills to adapt to change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify and mitigate potential OHS risks and hazards.
- Proficient in using Microsoft 365 Office Suite.

The Occupational Health and Safety Officer/Advisor plays a critical role in ensuring the continuing health, safety and well being of our employees. Ensure operations and workplace practices comply with Australian occupational health and safety laws and regulations. The OHS Advisor /Officer will promote a culture of safety and provide the advice, guidance and training for Wurundjeri Corporation people to manage the health, safety and well being and themselves, their colleagues, our stakeholders and others.
