POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification: Related business degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge: Proficient with personal computer software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel Power Point, Outlook; excellent working knowledge of federal regulations and various state and local laws regarding safety and health compliance
Experience: Minimum 3 years safety management and leadership experience; experience managing multiple locations a plus; experience with training in a group environment
Skills/Abilities: Excellent leadership, change management, and team building skills; high attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials; able to establish priorities and meet deadlines; can exercise and maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality and sensitive information; ability to build an effective team, develop and maintain positive working relationships, and articulate objectives; exceptional written communication skills; keen with details and excellent organization skills
Availability: Able to work hours that include weekdays, weekends, nights, and/or holiday

Responsibilities:

POSITION PURPOSE

Assist the Safety and Security Manager with all safety and security operations and functions including, but not limited to, preserving the safety and security of the employees, guests, and members at Cal-a-Vie and The Havens Country Club.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with investigations of accidents, thefts, property loss and unlawful activities
  • Respond to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life and/or property
  • Serve as a liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement
  • Assist with the administration and accuracy of all required safety reports and documentation
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests; resolve guest issues in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
  • Advise and actively participate in risk and hazard evaluations for existing processes, procedures, operating areas, and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with governmental regulations including federal, state, and local laws and regulations, e.g., OSHA
  • Provide timely resolutions to safety issues by identifying the problem, determining root cause, establishing action plans and priorities, and providing technical assistance
  • Collaborate with vendors for all safety, security, and technical safety related systems
  • Assist with vendor inspections; ensure all safety equipment is inspected on a regular basis and recorded
  • Conduct property and department safety inspections regularly with in collaboration with department manager; identify potential safety risks, security risks, and undesirable conditions and follow through to ensure all hazards are addressed
  • Maintain written records of inspections and all safety related investigations
  • Monitor new legislation as it relates to safety and health standards and practices; facilitate changes, as necessary
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support for the security team
  • Participate in new hire orientation training; ensure all new hires receive and complete training
  • Assist with the development and administration of company safety incentive programs; evaluate the effectiveness of such programs
  • Assist with special projects and business continuity as needed
  • Patrol the interior and exteriors of the properties
  • Develop and increase team performance by providing effective supervision and scheduling
  • Other projects and responsibilities as may be assigned
