SAFETY SPECIALIST - EMERGENCY INCIDENT

Midland Transport is currently seeking an Safety Specialist - Emergency Incident at our Head Office located in Dieppe, NB. The selected candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a “Can Do” attitude.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- 5 Years of Experience in Transportation
- Emergency Response experience would be an asset.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- CRSP designation or working towards CRSP designation
- Drive Results
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Microsoft office suite of projects
- Root Cause Investigation Training
- Previous transportation experience is an asset”
- Understanding of Intelex or other safety systems is an asset
- Experience with TapRoot or other root cause investigation tools is an asset.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- POST-ACCIDENT RESPONSE: Vehicle and Terminal Emergencies
- Work with dispatch and drivers to investigate accidents/incidents and coordinator cleanup & recovery.
- Work with dispatch and drivers to complete the post-accident process including securing accident report, photos, 3rd party information and driver’s statements.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- On call rotating schedule for “after hour” incidents requiring support.
- Assist team with development of policies, procedures and documenting standard processes.
