As a Sales and Events Manager, your primary focus will be on actively seeking out new clients and developing strategies to maintain the hotel’s position as a leader in the market. You will analyze local market trends and competitor activity to identify potential business opportunities and recommend strategies accordingly. Interacting with customers and guests regularly, you will build strong relationships to cultivate repeat and expanded business.
An ideal candidate for the role of Sales and Events Manager, is a person with a clear passion to go above and beyond our guests’ expectations. You are able to use your intuition and creativity to deliver a wonderful experience for everyone. The ability to multitask and priorities is important, as well as the ability to work well under pressure with a broad smile. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, produce quality work and be flexible to work as per business needs.
As a Sales and Events Manager, you will be responding to enquiries received by the hotel by sending our group and events offers, as well as managing the associated contracts with the aim of high conversion of clients.

Responsibilities:

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Analysis local market trends and competitor activity to identify business leads
  • Develop customer accounts and travel within the local area to drive business into the specific hotel/cluster and to increase market/customer share in all revenue streams
  • Negotiate room rates/packages with corporate clients
  • Prepare company contracts for the hotel in accordance with current business and pricing conditions
  • Work within current business strategies and recognizing potential opportunities
  • Cooperate with other departments in the hotel to create an exceptional Guest experience and build strong, comprehensive sales programs
  • Work together with the operations team to launch promotions, marketing activities and effective pricing
  • Support and manage any ad hoc requests from Management or key stakeholder
  • Attend Sales events, as required
  • Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the senior management to include the reporting of appointments, calls made and business leads
  • Answer customer queries in a prompt and professional manner
  • Maximize all Group and Event revenue opportunities
  • Review business plans, identify gaps, and ensure proactive efforts to fill capacity and meet set targets
  • Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel
  • Understand the competitive marketplace and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local marke

A Sales and Events Manager serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

  • Demonstrated previous experience in a Sales and /or Conference and Events Sales function in the hotel.
  • Excellent selling capability and an ability and desire to coach selling techniques to the hotel team
