POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a vital member of our sales team, the Sales Manager will be responsible for providing overall regional management and leadership to the sales team. This position will play a pivotal role in creating and establishing high standards of sales execution and developing a plan and strategy to drive revenue growth within the Greater Vancouver and Vancouver Island Regions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of sales or business development experience preferably in the construction industry
  • 3+ years of supervisory, management, or leadership experience directing a field sales team in a quota-driven environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred
  • Proven track record of business development and exceeding sales expectations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability in people management, strategic planning, risk management, and project/change management
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of processes, operations, management principles, and budgeting
  • A high degree of customer service orientation and providing an epic and authentic customer experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Ability to spend up to 25% of your time traveling with field sales team
  • Overnight travel may be required at times
  • Valid provincial drivers license and clean drivers abstract
  • Detail-oriented individual with a passion for operational excellence

Responsibilities:

  • Actively manage the functions of all sales and estimating within the assigned region and branch
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales and estimating team to achieve target objectives
  • Develop territory lines for Account Managers within the assigned region
  • Establish estimating standards, pricing structures, and qualify bid submissions
  • Conduct performance reviews and implement training programs to improve productivity
  • Streamline sales processes and workflows to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue and profit expectations
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities
  • Collaborate with other departments such as marketing and product development to align sales efforts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and prospects
  • Deliver an epic customer experience to our clients by adhering to established business policies and procedures and by championing best practice solutions
  • Establish annual budgets for effective use of resources and optimize performance and growth
  • Utilize CRM systems and sales analytics tools to track performance metrics and identify areas of improvement
  • Establish and maintain sales policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure operational consistency
  • Promote a high level of communication with operations leadership, including meeting regularly to review performance and develop action plans for continued growth and improvement
  • Work with Human Resources to recruit, manage, and develop sales staff
  • Ensure health and safety paperwork and policies are adhered to and advocate a culture of safety
  • Attend and participate in regional branch sales meetings
  • Establish and maintain relationships with municipalities, ministries, and other key stakeholders
  • Manage customer and client relationships and resolve service-related issues
  • Monitor sales activities and pipelines to assess current performance against targets
  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and insights to senior management
  • Develop extensive product knowledge and train and educate team members
  • Attend industry trade shows and other networking events
  • Other duties as required
