Hand Picked Hotels was founded in 2001 by owner and Chairman, Julia Hands MBE. Whilst each hotel is individual, every property fulfils the company values of family, individuality, community and care, ensuring a hand picked experience for every guest and employee.
We are currently recruiting for a Sales Manager to be based at Norton House Hotel and Spa part of Hand Picked Hotels. This is a new role created due to the ongoing transformation plans for Hand Picked Hotels.
Sweeping past the original stone gatehouse and journeying along the tree-lined drive of Norton House Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh, this prestigious Georgian country house leaves an indelible first impression. Like fine malt whisky, it has improved with age. Now a mecca for stylish dining, 21st-century comforts and cutting-edge technology blend with historic features to create a sense of the old and new working in unison.
This 1840 country house hotel is an idyllic Scottish wedding venue and one of the best meeting venues in Edinburgh, thanks to its location, just 5 minutes from Edinburgh Airport and 20 minutes from the city centre.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • The role of Sales Manager will involve proactively driving sales activities to the hotel across all sectors to including hotel events, private dining, leisure experiences, corporate and conference from a local perspective.
  • Work with local destination houses and partners from a B2B and B2C perspective.
  • Support the development, execution, and maintenance of the hotel and Hand Picked Hotels sales and marketing plan.
  • Responsible for pro-actively manage social media on property, looking at ways to engage with the local community, raise awareness and engagement.
  • Be a confident and effect networker who can build effective relationships externally and internally.
  • Making clear, confident decisions, will be second nature to you, consulting with others where needed ensuring you all reach the same goals.

•To be considered for this role you will this role of Sales Manager you will have current proactive sales experience within a 4/5-star luxury hotel or similar environment and knowledge of the local market.

  • It is essential you are driven, can act on your own initiative where appropriate and enjoy working within a proactive sales role and with set targets and objectives.
  • Can demonstrate a methodical approach and are highly organised and have a systematic approach to your work.
  • You will have excellent communication, presentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Most of all, you will have a professional, organised and friendly approach and be able to anticipate our guests needs and create memories.
  • It essential you have your own transport and can travel as required
