Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Representative is responsible for managing all aspects of the sales function within a specified geographic territory for chain and independent customers. He/she will manage all customer inquiries, while developing/growing existing business and prospecting new customers for the assigned territory.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for achieving and exceeding volume targets as assigned in the chain banners (Metro, IGA, Super C) and Inter-Marché & Independents customers.
  • Develop and grow business through creative initiatives.
  • Prepare and present business reviews to customers and internal stakeholders, as required.
  • Communicate internally among Sofina Sales team, Customer service, Demand Planning, Trade Marketing, Marketing and distribution departments to maximize opportunities.
  • Develop daily schedule for customer visits to ensure efficiency and objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain a high level of competitor and marketplace knowledge including products, pricing, and promotions.
  • Profitably manage territory by developing necessary plans and corrective action to meet territory distribution and volume targets.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Organizes demos for existing and potential customers, advises customers on presentation of products and promotional materials.
  • Participates actively in sales meetings to obtain/share information on sales objectives, promotional actions, new products, field challenges, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned if not in contradiction with this role profile.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College Diploma (preferably B Com) with minimum 2 years of sales experience in the food industry. Comfortable with Windows environment
  • Ability to build and establish relationships.
  • Ability to travel to customers on a daily basis, some overnight.
  • Organized, strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Fluent in French (verbal/written) and English is an asset.
