The Team:
Our Finance organization oversees financial support for all areas of the company, as well as ensures processes meet the needs of our business. Cognex is a global, publicly traded manufacturer and marketer of advanced integrated technology products.
We are seeking a motivated individual who is looking to grow their career within Cognex. Our global finance team has a center of excellence for the European Region located in Cork, Ireland. This position will work closely with our finance colleagues in Europe, as well as the Sales Operations Team based in our U.S. corporate headquarters.
The Role:
The Sales Operations Manager and their team of two analysts provide support for the company’s Europe Sales organization, which is one of the largest regions of the company. The role requires a combination of operational experience and business acumen to aid in the Sales team’s ability to focus on meeting their bookings targets. The manager will serve as a key partner to the VP of Europe Sales.

Essential Functions:

  • Overall responsibility & support of all sales administrative tools and processes
  • Responsible for publication and analysis of KPIs
  • Responsible for Salesforce CRM data, which may include (but is not limited to):
  • Hierarchy establishment and administration
  • Creation of territories based on communication from regional Sales managers
  • Development request collaboration with IT group
  • Facilitate compilation of annual bookings plan and update of monthly forecast
  • Responsible for training of the sales team
  • Liaison to Global Sales Operation department
  • Responsible for localizing and implementing global initiatives
  • Drive creation and administration of new processes and reporting to support business needs and promote sales productivity

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to prioritize and drive issues to resolution in a timely manner
  • Strong financial analysis skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Experience working closely with all levels of sales personnel
  • Strong ability to manage and drive change without direct authority in a cross-functional environment (specifically with Global Sales Operations)
  • Ability to manage a dynamic environment with a high degree of complexity
  • CRM experience preferred, Salesforce a plus
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience (pivot tables, filters, basic lookup functions) a plus
  • Familiarity with Power BI a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must
  • Process improvement focus
  • Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously and move fast
  • Ability to work independently is required
  • Experience with commission plans a plus

Minimum education and work experience required:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in either Finance or Accounting is required; Finance is preferred.
  • 7+ years of sales operations experience preferred
  • 2+ years of manager experience preferred
  • High tech or manufacturing company experience preferred
