DESCRIPTION

The position of Sales Representative is within our Business Unit Infectious Diseases located at Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Germany GmbH, Cologne.
The role of the Sales Representative within each of these core markets is to ensure Abbott RDx ID leads in the move toward POC within in particular the secondary care setting. This will require managing and influencing a wide variety of stakeholders and pathways.
An entrepreneurial and high calibre self-starter with a proven track record and a consistent high achiever in the Healthcare sales arena is base to suit to this role. You will contribute to Abbott Rapid Diagnostics growth and development. This role involves searching, identifying, assimilating and prioritising key opportunities within an assigned sales territory.
The role focusses on developing key accounts for Abbott’s products and services in partnership with other business functions. You will implement national strategies for new and existing products and services, including mapping out and building stakeholder relationships. This requires the ability to ‘sell’ all of the company’s products and services across especially the Secondary Care sectors.
The Sales Representative is expected to lead and initiate projects or work as part of a project team as required, demonstrate excellent business acumen and strive to meet and exceed agreed financial and strategic objectives.
The role is regional but may have national elements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Primary degree in BA or equivalent work experience in the field of diagnostics
  • Strong communicator
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive people relationships and build strong links with all customers
  • Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving with the ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach)
  • Positive attitude, team player with a high level of initiative, energy and enthusiasm
  • Excellent organization, facilitator and presentation skills
  • Standard travel average min. 70 - 80%
  • Responsible-minded with a high persuasive power
  • Driven by objectives, solutions, meet the deadlines and customer satisfaction

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years’ experience working in Medical Devices or similar environment
  • Detailed understanding of the industry
  • Ideally experience delivering change initiatives and facilitating change in a customer focused organization
  • Preferential knowledge of the sales market and job profile
  • Ability to think innovatively and not be constrained by current practices
  • Experience in working on strategic topics
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

Responsibilities:

  • Development of markets and customers (especially new hired customers), achieving sales targets, providing general customer service in the various areas of responsibility
  • Responsibility for the development and execution of the Abbott RDx ID product portfolio within the area, including the Infectious Diseases, with a key focus to the business unit’s products
  • Proposal preparation for customers as well as completion of contracts
  • Ability to articulate issues and business opportunities with relevant customers to secure long term strategic business with customers of national significance
  • Monitor and report on competitive activities
  • Perform product training & implementation within region
  • Attending conferences, exhibitions, etc. on national and international level are expected
