Description:
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
- High school diploma.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven outside sales experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- Strong consultative sales skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Building and Sustaining Customer Relationships: External sales reps establish and maintain long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers within their designated sales territory.
- Face-to-Face Meetings: They travel within their assigned territory to conduct face-to-face meetings with potential and existing customers.
- Meeting or Exceeding Sales Targets: External sales representatives consistently meet or exceed sales targets by selling company products.
- Sales Strategy Development: They develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive sales.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of leads, customer accounts, and sales.
- Collaboration with Marketing: External sales reps work with the marketing department to expand brand presence through suitable marketing materials.
- Market Research: Researching competitors’ products, pricing, and market conditions.
- Staying Informed: Keeping up-to-date with industry developments by attending meetings, training workshops, and industry events.
- Negotiating Sales: Strategically negotiating with potential and existing customers to close deals.
