Description:

EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • Solid Project Management Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in managing people and teams
  • Financial Management, including cost estimation and budget tracking and reporting
  • Has delivered several IT (ideally software application) projects of over $250K across a variety of relevant industry sectors – both Private and Public sector Understanding of both Waterfall and Agile delivery methods.
  • Experience with DevOps, Jira to manage Sprint teams
  • Experience leading ERP, CRM (ideally Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics) delivery teams where project value exceeded AUD$1M and project teams numbering >10

About the role
The Senior Project Manager role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of a product or service offering project for a client, from inception to installation. They must ensure that projects adhere to the Datacom delivery methodology and are monitored according to the agreed standards as defined by the Datacom PMO as well as fundamentally always being delivered to the highest quality standard, within scope, in budget and on time.

Role Responsibilities

  • Typically involved with projects that are focused on the delivery of new or enhanced products to improvement of customer satisfaction through the use of technology.
  • Installations may involve acceptance of capitalised equipment or enterprise software systems, or system integration or consulting projects / engagements.
  • May work at client site from time to time.
  • May involve interaction with sales, systems engineering, product development, and other members of cross-functional teams including third-parties.
  • Project management skills, rather than technical skills, are key, but a strong technical background is often required to manage competing interests.
  • Typically oversees schedules and budgets to ensure goal attainment.
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
  • Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement to build a culture of service excellence and demonstrates new ways of working.
  • Put safety above all else, be aware of and apply roles and responsibilities in accordance with NZ health and safety legislation. Take responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others including your own fitness for work.
  • Promote a positive culture within the team
