PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in Sanctions Compliance
  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of global sanctions programs
  • Basic understanding of payment methods and transaction types
  • Experience in implementing and updating screening applications
  • Experience in updating policies and procedures, training materials
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Experience with Google Suite (e.g., Docs, Slides) and/or Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Powerpoint) preferred

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

The Sanctions Analyst role is part of the Compliance team and reports to our Director, Sanctions. As a Sanctions Analyst, you will have a good understanding of the sanctions compliance, and be able to handle all tasks related to it, including: review screening alerts, review OFAC licenses, report/file with OFAC, prepare management reports, review policies and procedures and recommend improvement, assist with regulatory and audit examinations amongst other duties as assigned.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Alerts review and management:
  • Review Sanctions, PEP and Negative News alerts (LexisNexis)
  • Review sanctions alerts at the transaction level generated from blockchain analytics tools and escalated to Sanctions Compliance team by the Transactions Monitoring Group
  • Review of OFAC Licenses
  • File/report to OFAC (blocked assets/VSDs)
  • Perform QC reviews of alerts decisioned by other sanctions analysts
  • Prepare Management reports (advanced excel skills)
  • Perform QA of the OFAC list updates
  • Assist in the design, build, and implementation of the Sanctions program (e.g., screening and other related processes)
  • Recommend changes to the policies and procedures for Sanctions, PEP and Negative News processes (MS WORD)
  • Assist in all regulatory reviews, examinations and audit reviews and updating training documentation for the sanctions and wider compliance programs
  • Closely follow sanctions regulations, compliance, and enforcement developments in the cryptocurrency industry and act as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Assist with preparing training materials (MS PowerPoint skills).
