SANDWICH CHEF

Baker Bleu is seeking to hire a skilled and passionate chef to help prepare and execute sandwiches in our Melbourne stores.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cook or Sandwich Chef in a similar food establishment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices, with the ability to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet the demands of the bakery’s schedule.
  • Passion for high-quality ingredients and dedication to creating exceptional culinary experiences.
  • Experience in a bakery setting and familiarity with sourdough bread is a plus.
  • Must be a team player with strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Sandwich Chef at Baker Bleu, you will play a vital role in our bakery’s daily operations, preparing delicious sandwiches and pizza using our high-quality sourdough and carefully curated ingredients. Your expertise in cooking, food safety, and sandwich preparation will contribute to the current sourdough bread, pastry and coffee experience we offer to our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and assemble a variety of sandwiches using our signature sourdough bread and premium ingredients.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines, acting as the designated food safety supervisor for the bakery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sandwich station, following proper storage and handling procedures.
  • Collaborate with the baking and production team to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of sandwiches to customers.
  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including slicing meats, cheeses, and vegetables, as well as preparing spreads and dressings.
  • Follow recipe guidelines and portion control to consistently deliver sandwiches of the highest quality.
  • Stay up to date with product knowledge and menu changes to provide accurate information and recommendations to customers.
  • Work remotely with Neil Perry, in executing his curated pizza and sandwich menu, incorporating his culinary expertise into our offerings.
  • Assist the production team with daily bread and cleaning duties.
