Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Role Description
The SAP Fieldglass Architect is responsible for building the business and technology scenarios, which will allow the customer to decide on the most appropriate solutions from the array of existing SAP Procurement Solutions (S4 HANA private or public / SAP Ariba / SAP Fieldglass / Partner-solutions options) to acquire and implement and to do so in an efficient way. Architects consult the customers on all types of Services available, with the end-goal of building the path into a digitized future for them, focusing on our latest technology as well as our entire portfolio of Services and Solutions. The Architect will primarily focus on the SAP Fieldglass guiding customers and partners how to solve business challenges by advising on solution capabilities and integration options throughout the customer’s lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities/ Tasks

  • Acts as a Trusted Advisor to customers and partners by providing a holistic advice and guidance on SAP Procurement solutions and their adoption in large, complex engagements.
  • Assess the as-is situation as well as the business objectives of customers and provide a structured path towards an integrated application landscape as well as guidance on the relevant operational approach required for the implementation. Validates and optimizes the approach for maximum customer success.
  • Challenges existing solutions / approaches / concepts, to generate a state-of-the-art and future-ready outcome.
  • Supports translating the desired application end-state scenario of the customer into specific functional/ integration scope as part of scoping for the implementation work.
  • Collaborates closely with SAP Delivery teams providing advice both internally and externally on SAP procurement solution capabilities/ recommended solutions (predominantly SAP Fieldglass) during solution deployment.
  • Works together with the different Services roles (Consultants, Project Managers, etc) as well as Sales/Presales and Post-Sales teams where required to support the customer’s roadmap with respect to solution best-practices.
  • Supports sales deals by providing guidance on procurement solutions architecture and solution capabilities to contribute towards well defined deployment scope and effort estimates.
  • Supports managing expectations from various stakeholders within the customer organization relating to SAP solution capabilities and how to best address customer’s business challenges, especially in complex use cases; creates a path to solution which integrates diverse points of views, and which serves as a starting point for future business.
  • Helps troubleshooting critical complex solution related customer issues during deployment.
  • Drives knowledge management and innovation activities based on this experience with customers. Documents successful approaches, tools etc. and makes them available to colleagues at SAP.
  • Collaborates and co-innovates with the respective development teams.
  • Stays up to date with newest developments driving business and technology trends and uses this knowledge to expand the list of the SAP innovation stories with tangible customer engagements.
