Expro Group are currently recruiting for a SAP IT Specialist to join the SAP IT team based in Dubai, UAE.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Responsible for the entire SAP landscape Basis activities to enable smooth running and availability
• Keeping the S4 systems up to date (incl. SOLMAN) and secure by implementing notes, patch updates
• Maintain SAP performance by planning and executing SAP tuning strategies and keeping EWA in green status
• Perform data refreshes to Quality and development system (knowledge of deployment and managing through LAMA is a Plus)
• Managing SUSE Linux and Windows operating system on Azure – New deployments, maintenance and security
• Experience in implementing add-ons, service packs and version upgrades / updates in S4
• Experience in setting up external connections, certificates updates, BTP
• Maintenance of the SAP Data Dictionary and database objects
• Maintain the integrity of the SAP environment by managing the Transport System and ensure all config and development objects are correctly transported
• Install and configure all required SAP database servers and application servers (including BTP)
• Manage SAP users, authorizations, and profiles (knowledge of GRC is a plus)
• Distribute the online SAP user workload and monitor and manage the SAP background job workload
• Monitor all SAP systems (work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space, etc.) and find solutions
• Administer the SAP database (upgrades, reorgs, backups, security, performance)
• Knowledge on MAXDB content server maintenance, backup and restore and archiving

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Work experience as a Basis Administrator with a minimum of 3-5 years handling Basis support and upgrade activities. Should have done at least 1 to 2 full cycle implementations ideally on to S4. Daily client support and systems monitoring experience essential.
• Degree in Information System (or equivalent)
• SAP Certification related to Basis is a plus
• Azure Certifications is a plus

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To engage in specific review, research, design, implementation, integration and testing activities across functional teams. The main purpose of the SAP Specialist role is to optimise the potential of the software for the end user, working collaboratively with functional teams to deliver excellent performance and results.
