Description:

As the SCADstory shop manager, you will work with the operations managers to provide customer service while supporting the mission and upholding image of the university by implementing store policies and regulations. As the shop manager, you will be responsible for hiring and training student staff; organizing operations; and handling inventory, scheduling, and business reporting. Other aspects of this job include approving time sheets; maintaining proficiency with the POS/inventory control software and hardware; providing daily operational support; and demonstrating a strong knowledge of the university’s history, mission, vision, awards, and recognitions.
In this role you will spearhead the department’s administrative tasks; maintain and submit monthly inventory and revenue reports; maintain functionality, cleanliness, and the sanitization efforts of the shop; and serve as a role model to students. As the manager you must exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work well with faculty and staff, institutional stakeholders, and the general public to promote awareness and further SCAD’s positive reputation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least one year of related experience
  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, retail, customer service, and time management skills
  • Must pay close attention to detail and have proven managerial experience
  • Should possess good judgement and appropriate decision-making skills
  • Should have the ability to produce high quality work and have the ability motivate a team
    Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
