Plant Engineering NCE is a part of Service NCE (Northern & Central Europe) and supports the organization in installation and service of a great number of SCADA systems controlling medium and large sized wind power plants. Our job is to turn a cluster of wind turbines into a power plant according to contractual and regional requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5 years’ experience of working as a SCADA engineer, particularly in the wind industry
- Relevant education within Automation or Information Technology or similar
- Experience in PLC programming
- Experience with communication protocols (preferred IEC101, IEC104, MODBUS, DNP, OPC)
- Industrial electricity and electronics knowledge
- Understanding of computer and industrial networks
- Experience in commissioning and maintenance of server operating systems is advantageous
- Experience working with wind turbines is beneficial
- Great English skills, both verbal and written
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a passport
Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility within the specialist technical area, of insuring that NCE has tools and process to commission and operate plants effectively.
- Be technically on top of things within area of expertise. Meaning guiding others with confidence.
- Act as daily stakeholder to VPS in order to achieve the above and secure that projects from VPS is delivered in a way that ensures operation and commissioning in effective way.
- Take ownership of technical issues, ensuring solutions through the use of Vestas process, and by orchestrating support from Lead Engineers as needed.
- Be external stakeholder to customers, authorities and others where needed in order to secure Vestas position
- Coordinate internal projects and be representing the department technically to management.
- Be responsible for suggesting and facilitate the strategy that the dept. should take within the area of the specialist.
- Arrange and host training sessions as applicable.
- Communicate technically complex topics to a wider audience in an understandable way.
