Jardeg is recruiting local Scaffolder Apprentices for pre-work and turnaround work to join the Quinn Constructors LTD. team at the NOVA Chemicals site in JOFFRE, Alberta. Come be a part of an outstanding team working with industry leaders that have been executing work at the Joffre site for over 20 years. Embrace a well-balanced schedule, working 4-days on and 3-days off rotation, with each workday consisting of 10 hours, for pre and post work and 6-days on and 1-day off for execution.
NOVA Chemicals’ Joffre manufacturing facility is located just east of Red Deer, Alberta and is one the largest ethylene and polyethylene production complexes in the world. The site actually consists of five manufacturing facilities: three for ethylene production and two for polyethylene production.
Scaffolders provide safe and secure scaffold access without compromising on safety. Assemble, dismantle, modify system and tube and clamp scaffolds.
LOA is available for those living outside of the 85 km radius.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Scaffold Certificate affiliation is preferred (or proof of hours)
  • Good mathematical, scientific, mechanical and logical reasoning abilities
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS 2020)
  • Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection
  • Energy Safety Canada Confined Space
  • Must provide their own tools

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with both staff and supervision to ensure expectations are met
  • Safe work practices in the industrial environment with knowledge of Task Hazard Assessments
  • Begin to understand assembling, dismantling and modifying System (Layer/Ring Lock) and Tube & Clamp scaffolds
  • Knowledge of isometric drawings an asset
  • Willing to learn new skills
  • Prioritizing daily work load with managing materials efficiently
