Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

PMA is seeking a scheduler with at least 3-5 years of experience to support the Los Angeles Community College District’s design and construction phases of capital improvement projects.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience in project or program scheduling on large construction programs required.
  • Advanced proficiency in specified software including, but not limited to: Primavera Scheduling Software, MS Office Applications including Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in theories, principles, and practices of cost engineering and scheduling required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, business administration, or other related fields preferred. Additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Experience with time impact analysis required.
  • Experience with construction claims and change orders required.
    The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $104,000.
    A hired employee will be placed within this salary range based on a variety of legitimate business reasons, including but not limited to the individual’s scope of relevant experience and geographic location.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the preparation of project schedules based on defined project execution philosophies.
  • Perform contractor schedule reviews for contract conformance and quality assurance.
  • Evaluate contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget and schedule.
  • Perform time impact analysis of project schedule delays and potential claims.
  • Participate in change order negotiations.
  • Perform critical path and earned value analyses.
  • Identify schedule-related problems which arise during project execution and recommend corrective actions and creative solutions.
  • Conduct construction/project site visits for progress reporting.
  • Review contractor’s weekly and monthly schedule progress, prepare narrative of findings, and submit and present to management for decision making.
  • Review and evaluate contractor recovery schedules.
  • Perform cost analysis in support of design and construction phases of capital projects.
  • Analyze actual expenditures versus budget performance.
  • Prepare a cost-loaded schedule to support comprehensive cash flow projections.
  • Understand, interpret, and apply contracts, policies, and procedures within Build LACCD guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
