Description:
POSITION: SCHEDULING CLERK STUDENT
UNIT: Scheduling Resource Office
STATUS: Temporary Full Time (Approximately July 1, 2024, to August 26, 2024)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Manager of Scheduling Resource Office and in partnership with the team in the Scheduling Resource office to assist the team in coordinating activities related to the scheduling process, schedule staff, and may assist in maintaining accurate records of shifts, record absences using appropriate time codes within a computerized Time and Attendance system (Dimensions). The Scheduling Clerk Student may collaborate with the team and with Managers to resolve payroll discrepancies, as well as data entry and assisting in the department where necessary. The Scheduling Clerk Student will aide in revising or developing training materials and webpage design to improve existing workflows for reference and training purposes.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma and currently enrolled in a post-secondary healthcare discipline
- Excellent Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel skills.
- Some working knowledge of Collective Agreements and collective agreement interpretation required.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with staff, management and union representatives.
- Proven ability to provide excellent customer service in all interactions.
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work calmly to meet tight deadlines and work in a time sensitive environment with competing demands and interruptions.
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills and proven ability to adapt positively in an ever-changing environment.
- Acceptable attendance record in accordance with STEGH’s Attendance at Work Policy
- Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values
Successful candidates must provide evidence of having received a full primary series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of vaccines authorized by Health Canada and having received the final dose 14 days before entering STEGH.
