School Accountant

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar role, preferably in an educational institution.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and cash flow projections.
• Monitor school expenditures and maintain budgetary controls.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Reconcile bank statements and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during audits.
• Prepare and submit government and regulatory reports as required.
• Collaborate with school administrators and department heads to provide financial guidance and support.
• Implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Assist in the development and implementation of long-term financial plans.
