Description:

About the team we are recruiting to
Coventry City Council provides a School Crossing Patrol Service for schools and Patrols assist children and adults on their journeys to and from school. School Crossing Patrols (lollipop men and women) stop the traffic to allow pedestrians to cross the road more safely.
We value diverse perspectives and experiences and are striving to create a workplace culture that is inclusive, is accepting of all and is free from discrimination and bias.
What is the job role?
We are looking for a School Crossing Patrol for Moat House and St Patrick’s Schools, Deedmore Road, Coventry. You will work for 6 hours and 40 minutes each week, working shifts that are 8.30 am to 9.05 am and then again from 2.55 pm to 3.40 pm (times to be confirmed). You will be working alone, but with line management support if it is required.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a confident, motivated, and reliable individual who is trusted to work alone and carry out their job as it should be done every day that they are required to be on site.
We need someone who is able to work outside in all weathers (for fairly short shifts) as the service operates every school day, whether it’s sunny and hot or raining and windy! A uniform is provided. This is a very rewarding job and the Patrols we currently employ say that they get a lot of job satisfaction. If you think this is the role for you, please take the time to apply and join our friendly team.
Please note, that previous applicants need not re-apply.
