We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our forward thinking and innovative School Nursing team, which is part of the Public Health 0-19 services in Merton.
Central London Community Healthcare is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and innovative practitioner to join the School Nursing Service in Merton. The practitioner must be a Registered Nurse with a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Qualification (School Nursing).
The School Nursing service comprises of a large skill mix team, which is structured to deliver core and targeted health input through the Healthy Child Programme to all school aged children and their families.
The applicant should demonstrate leadership skills, knowledge of safeguarding and child protection processes and offer flexibility in managing their caseload.
In addition, they should have a strong public health focus and be fully committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our diverse school aged population.
The School nursing Teams are seeking dynamic individuals with a strong public health focus who are fully committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our diverse school aged population. You will be a highly motivated individual with an interest in proactively managing health promotion initiatives.

To provide a skilled, effective and evidence based service to children and young people within schools and community settings.
To act as a named school nurse for a cluster of nominated schools, applying specialist skills and knowledge in the delivery of the school health service
To develop an overview of the profiled health needs of the defined population alerting the Team Lead where any service gaps are identified
To identify, prioritise and implement programmes of care that meet the public health needs of the defined school age population
To provide health assessments, advice and education to children/young people, their parents/carers and Education staff
