The Sheikh Zayed Academy for Girls is offering a remarkable opportunity for an experienced female school leader to join the Academy as Principal from August 2024.

Position Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership
  • A minimum of 8 years total experience
  • A minimum of 5 years in a secondary school leadership role

Responsibilities:

Vision, mission and education strategy: Champion and embody the school’s vision, mission, ensure all educational strategies and activities are closely aligned with these core principles. Collaborate with the faculty and staff to implement long-term plans that reflect the school’s established objectives, focusing on systemic execution within set timelines to achieve these goals.
School Plans and Budget: Develop and lead school improvement annual plans and budgets in line with the school’s strategic long-term plans and strategies. Ensure the school is optimally staffed to improve school standards and deliver the school’s business objectives of revenue and profit.
Curriculum Leadership and Operational Excellence: Provide professional leadership in terms of curriculum development in order to consistently deliver high standards of education. Ensure high standards and alignments with the school goals, MoE and ADEK guidelines. Encourage innovative teaching practices and maintain school accreditation with NEASC, CIS and Apple Distinguished School status. Prioritize maintaining or exceeding school inspection and compliance ranking and results, implementing best practices and continuous improvement strategies to uphold and enhance the quality of educational and operational excellence.
Academic Performance Management: Oversee a robust system to track and improve student achievements and teaching quality. Utilize data to identify improvement areas, set clear goals and apply targeted strategies. Promote ongoing teacher development to enhance instructional effectiveness. Ensure assessments accurately measure student progress, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in teaching and learning outcomes.
Pastoral Care: Create and foster a culture of pastoral care at every level with respect to teachers and students, promoting responsible stewardship to ensure that educational objectives are delivered, and the morale of the school community is maintained to expected standards.
Performance Management: Ensure that well-developed performance management systems are properly implemented within the school to track the performance of teachers, administration and support staff in order to maintain and enhance expected achievement standards of school performance.
School Procedures and Processes: Effectively implement and uphold the school’s established educational and administrative policies, procedures and processes in order to facilitate the school strategy effectively and efficiently and implement all standard operating procedures as identified by the school management.
Relationship Management: Establish and maintain good relationships between students and teachers; parents and teachers; and school and community in order to widen the educational horizons of students. Build good community relations and favorably project the image of the school.
Resource Management: Effectively utilize and manage all resources including staff, equipment and infrastructure in order to run a cost-effective educational system. Ensure the school is staffed with high-caliber professionals who are motivated, trained, developed, engaged and retained to deliver the school’s education objectives. Participate in the selection of teaching, admin and support staff and organize appropriate induction and training to enhance effectiveness.
Systems: Ensure that all vital information regarding the school and academic achievements is captured and reported to the school management so that timely and appropriate management decisions are taken.
Administration: Effectively and smoothly administer all support facilities such as transportation, health services, safety, maintenance and infrastructure in order to ensure an efficient and well-run school.
Communications: Provide parents with timely feedback about the academic and general progress of their children in order to create a partnership to ensure students’ growth and progress. Organize parent-teacher meetings. Provide students with feedback on their strengths and performance improvement needs so they can monitor their own progress.
Operations: Ensure the Academy’s policies, procedures and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
Strategic Collaboration and Partnership: Actively collaborate with the school management team and the Executive Superintendent to ensure strategic alignment and operational excellence.
School Reviews: Prepare for CIS, NESAC and any other visitations for school accreditations, audits or compliance reviews.
In addition to the above, the school Principal will be expected to initiate effort and energy beyond the typical workday where tasks require additional commitment.
