Responsibilities:
- opening up before school starts and ensuring that the site is clean and remains secure;
- locking up after school closes and ensuring that the site is secured after all teachers have left;
- undertaking general caretaking and maintenance duties;
- reporting items needing repair;
- working with the cleaning company;
- maintaining the grounds, including the supervision of external companies carrying out related work;
- contacting and communicating with outside contractors for major repair work;
- checking that heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly;
- liaising with and supervising utility companies;
- being a fire warden;
- coordinating safety drills; and
- championing health and safety around the school.
There may also be an opportunity to extend or increase your working hours by working as a Teaching Assistant in the mornings or as a Meal Time Supervisor.
