About the role
We are seeking a qualified Science Laboratory Technician to work as part of a team in supporting and improving students’ learning experience. In this permanent part time (0.6) opportunity, the Science Laboratory Technician will work closely with teaching staff to ensure the science curriculum and STEM program are delivered safely. Duties include but are not limited to:
Ensure that preparations for classwork are completed in a timely manner
Assist with science experiments, demonstrations and STEM activities in timetabled classes where necessary
Ensure that science and STEM facilities are maintained and safe
Manage the maintenance of science and STEM equipment and resources
Order and purchase materials and relevant equipment
About you
You possess relevant experience within a science laboratory
You are familiar with secondary science curriculum and the ability to design and construct experiments and equipment to support curriculum requirements.
You possess organisational skills, flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
You possess a proficiency in computer skills with demonstrated practical understanding of spreadsheets and word processing
Have demonstrated organisational and time management skills and ability to work independently and as a team.
Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent qualification (desirable).
