Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING | NGĀ WHĀINGA MATUA

Although we need you to learn the status quo as below, we ultimately want your tech savvy input coupled with your coordinator skillset to help improve our online tracking system. Eventually you will be advising our in-house tech team on changes to help improve our process improvement.
Before that we want you to learn what we do now. Therefore, your time will be spent using your specialist responsibilities coordinating the operation of the Science Publication Office’s online tracking system (SPTS), to ensure efficient and effective passage of publications through the internal review processes.
This will support the delivery of high-quality papers, reports, articles, presentations and other scientific outputs to our clients and other target audiences. Where required, you will also assist in the preparation, formatting and delivery of commercial and internal reports.
You will be working collaboratively, especially with the other members of the Science Publication Office team, and with our scientists and business support staff.

To be successful in this role, the minimum qualifications required are:

  • you will have five years’ experience in an administration role or similar function that includes maintenance of database and spreadsheet software applications and document production.
  • High levels of accuracy and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook skills will be essential, with experience of Foxit or other PDF software also desirable.
  • You will have an appreciation of document layout and design
