Description:
SUMMARY
AIM Biotech is an organ-on-a-chip company that builds next generation in vitro humanized models for research, drug discovery and personalized medicine. In this exciting role, you will be working within our R&D team to develop new applications for AIM’s 3D cell culture platform that could be used to gain novel insights in the research labs or to accelerate the drug discovery process in the pharmaceutical companies. You will have the opportunity to participate in new product development and influence novel inventions through scientific contributions. You will keep abreast of the latest developments in the field through active communications with our scientific partners and customers.
REQUIREMENTS
- PhD of Science degree in life sciences, bioengineering or similar
- Expertise in one or more of the following fields: neuroscience, vascular biology, inflammation and immunology
- Experience in handling various mammalian cell cultures especially in characterizing and genetically modifying primary cells or cell lines
- Hands-on experience with different downstream analyses including but not limited to transcriptomic analyses, immunoassays (ELISA, Luminex), flow cytometry, immunofluorescence microscopy (confocal) and High-Content Screening (HCS) systems
- Experience in designing and executing in vitro drug testing projects using advanced cell-based assays including but not limited to organs-on-a-chip assays
- Ability to navigate multi-disciplinary and cross-functionality projects
- Self-motivated to learn new techniques and embrace new challenges in a fast-paced working environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills. Good presentation skills are highly valued
- A team player who also enjoys working independently
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute experiments as part of the efforts in developing new organotypic assays and in completing contract research services
- Engage with service customers actively to understand customer requirements and to ensure the smooth execution of contract research services
- Be the in-house technical experts to drive the success of complex research and technical projects
- Generate protocols, application notes and whitepapers to educate customers about AIM’s products, the latest trends in 3D cell biology and advanced cell culture techniques
- Present scientific progress in the form of written reports and oral presentations to internal and external stakeholders
- Provide technical support to internal & external customers and distributors on a global scale
