Description:

BioLoomic’s Mission:
BioLoomics is developing safer, more effective cancer medicines through innovative antibody solutions. Our mission is to engineer better antibody-drug conjugates with programmable trafficking activity. The BioLoomics discovery engine combines synthetic biology, robotics, imaging, and machine learning to perform a function-first search of antibody design space at ultra-high throughput. We are building a highly cross-functional team that will do cutting-edge drug discovery and development. We are a people first company.
The Contribution You Will Make:
BioLoomics is seeking an experienced Scientist II, centered on analytical protein characterization and bioconjugation. You will be responsible for the characterization of novel antibody designs that flow from our discovery engine as well as their conjugations to dyes, linkers, and drugs. These purified antibodies are tested in-house, enabling fast paced optimization of high-efficacy antibody candidates. Evaluation of the developability of different protein designs is critical to our workflow. You will work alongside a broader team of 10 talented scientists and engineers that have strong molecular biology skills and cellular assay experience. You will work closely with other members of our protein team and report to the Director of R&D. This role is 100% on-site, full-time with a semi-flexible work schedule, and will require possible light weekend work to maintain cell cultures.
The Impact of Your Work:
Successful execution by you and the team will lead to the discovery of novel antibody designs that will progress to the clinic and have the potential to become life-saving medicines for people in need. You will also play a critical role in maturing a novel antibody modality that has the potential to unlock new therapeutic targets.

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Protein Characterization: Concentration, Purity, Activity, Aggregation, Thermal stability
  • Bioconjugation using various approaches and the characterization bioconjugates for degree of labeling
  • Development of assays for evaluating protein developability
  • Use and maintenance of analytical instrumentation: HPLC
  • Careful and thorough lab note taking and data compilation.
  • Author and/or contribute to abstracts/manuscripts, patents, study reports, and regulatory submissions.

Other responsibilities as needed:

  • Mammalian cell culture, transfection & protein expression optimization (BSL1/2).
  • Tracking expression with various protein and fluorescence assays.
  • Protein Purification: Affinity, SEC, IEX, HIC
  • Bioanalysis of PK samples
