EDUCATION

  • Bachelors and 3+ years related experience: or, Masters and 2+ years related experience. Degree in chemistry, biochemistry or a related field.
  • Combination of education and experience is flexible based on relevancy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic knowledge of viral vector production and supporting analytics (ELISA, ddPCR, infectious titer).
  • Subject matter expertise in light scattering and its applications to the analysis of viral vectors such as AAV.
  • Familiar with aseptic techniques and BSL-2/2+ containment.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced digital literacy and proactive in learning new systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and complete all assigned laboratory work and maintain accurate records according to GDP guidelines to support regulatory filings and the STT quality standards.
  • Assist team manager and/or lead scientist with mentorship of junior staff and with the training and implementation of safety and team procedures.
  • Evaluate scientific and technological advances of analytical methodologies that involve viral vectors.
  • Assess project technical and regulatory needs for GMP tech transfers.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed lab records and appropriate documentation.
  • Assist with testing needs to support ongoing process development.
  • Assist in implementing analytical strategies in research and development.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining the efficiency of the Science and Technology quality system.
  • Maintain broad knowledge of principles and theories of analytical instrumentation in liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, AUC, SEC-MALS, FFF-MALS, DLS, capillary electrophoresis, fluorescence, and UV detection and others as needed.
  • Interact with vendors to resolve scientific and technical challenges.
  • Perform routine testing to support both internal and client manufacturing projects.
