Description:
EDUCATION
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related field with 0 to 3+ years of industrial experience
- Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related field with 3+ years of industrial experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Hands-on experience using sequencing technologies
- Hands-on experience in the development, optimization, and validation of molecular assays, preferably clinical diagnostic tests
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Strong understanding of the underlying principles of NGS (or sequencing), DNA isolation and quantification, gene amplification methods, quantitative PCR, Sanger sequencing, and other relevant technologies
- Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with inter-departmental colleagues (Marketing, Production, Manufacturing, and Quality)
- Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently to handle a variety of assigned tasks simultaneously
- Represent R&D to assist in process improvement, customer inquiries, and staff training as needed
- Well-developed written skills to prepare regular and routine reports, reviews, and white papers, as well as preparing presentations
- Experience in HLA preferred
- Experience in bioinformatics and statistics preferred

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop sequencing-based assays for transplant diagnostic applications
- Prepare NGS libraries, perform sequencing runs, and data analysis
- Participate in collaborative inter-departmental activities as the technical representative for R&D toward the common goal of producing quality products that can help improve the outcome for transplant recipients.
