SCIENTIST/SENIOR SCIENTIST (FOOD SAFETY ANALYTICS AND EPIDEMIOLOGY)

REQUIREMENTS

• Candidate must minimally possess an undergraduate degree (Bachelors) in a quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a data science related field)
• Knowledge in data science techniques and concepts, with sound understanding of their potentials and limitations when applied to use cases
• Proficient at using R or Python, and Tableau or PowerBI
• Able to learn and apply relevant tools and methodologies to process and analyse large datasets
• Good interpersonal skills and highly driven, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills

Officer will be expected to:

• Develop and implement statistical, machine learning or time-series models, to strengthen risk assessment for early preparedness and management of foodborne diseases
• Apply data science tools and techniques to draw insights from data to inform food safety policy and operations
• Create appropriate visualisations to communicate data insights effectively
• Support in the collection, processing, analysis and sharing of food safety and biosurveillance related data
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams responsible for the national food safety monitoring programme
