We are looking for an experienced Electrical Scoper who will be highly focussed on health & safety procedures to join our close-knit team based in Auckland in a customer facing role to scope and oversee the quality of our work.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

Our Scoper/Estimators spend some of their day in the office, but most of it out and about in the field. You will have a broader outlook to investigate the scoping of poles and lines and recommend best practice to repair and maintain these. Reporting to the Asset Manager- Overhead, you’ll also be responsible for:

  • Assessing assigned assets in the field, inspect, scope ,confirm required works to remediate defects
  • Identifying environmental or other issues that may impact the works
  • Creating bill of materials for the works
  • Obtaining approvals from clients to facilitate the production of work packages
  • Identifying additional field information to allow for efficient implementation of the work
  • Assisting with general management of the assigned asset portfolio, including the delivery of the work plan
  • Developing and maintaining positive and effective client relationships for the assets managed to achieve client’s asset performance objectives
  • Ensuring all issued equipment/PPE are fit for purpose, cleaned, tested and compliant and NP property is maintained to be in good working condition

You’ll be liaising with our customers in the community and other Asset Management teams to ensure that requirements are met, and that work is completed within the expected timeframes and to a high standard.

You will have proven understanding of the utilities industry in an overhead electrical distribution network environment and maybe a Line Mechanic looking to step-up. A highly responsive, customer focused attitude is the winning attribute along with an eagerness to identify solutions. To be successful in this role, you’ll also have:

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of NZ overhead electrical distribution network
  • A clean full class 1 NZ driver’s licence
  • Physically fit to perform the role as it involves a fair bit of walking in urban and rural environments
  • Ability to work autonomously and drive your own output
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate computer literacy especially MS Office
  • A proactive and can-do attitude with strong attention to detail
  • Solid Interpersonal skills and relationship-building with diverse stakeholders
  • Be mindful on safety for self, workmates, customers, the public, networks and environment with continuous, strong practice of HSQE requirements; also proactively report all incidents in a timely and effective manner according to our compliance procedure
