Description:

ARE YOU LOOKING TO EXPLORE A CAREER IN CORRECTIONS OR LAW ENFORCEMENT? DO YOU HAVE AVAILABILITY TO WORK WITH US FROM JUNE THROUGH LABOR DAY? IF SO, CONSIDER JOINING OUR TEAM AS A SEASONAL CORRECTIONAL OFFICER!

Our correctional officer team is a mix of security and social work combined, and a career with the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office can take you to places you never imagined.
While you must be at least 19 years old to apply, previous experience is not necessary. We will give you the training, tools, and support to be successful. We just need good people to step up and take on the challenge.
Each summer, criminal justice majors and college students on break come to us to work as seasonal Correctional Officers. Even Sheriff Nick Cocchi himself began his career as a seasonal Correctional Officer.
This is a per diem position paying $20 an hour, but for candidates who excel at the challenge, future opportunities with the Sheriff’s Office may lie ahead!

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 19 years old.
  • Must be flexible with availability and able to work all shifts.
  • Must be able to work through Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2024.
The Hampden County Sheriff’s Office is not your average law enforcement agency.
Behind the walls of our facilities in Western Massachusetts, our firm but fair approach to corrections has been emulated across the country and changed countless lives for the better. We provide empathy and opportunity to all who come under our care and custody with the aim of uplifting individuals and their families.
In the community, Sheriff Nick Cocchi’s ‘never say no’ attitude has evolved the field of community policing, bridging the divide between residents and unmet needs in our neighborhoods. You’ll find our dedicated staff in the parks, on the waterways, in our schools and on the streets to be a positive, proactive partner for the public good.
If you want to help make the world a better place, consider joining our team
