Seasonal Pool Monitor

JOB OVERVIEW:

Under moderate supervision, the Pool Monitor will oversee pool and spa areas to assure the safety of all users. Perform such lifesaving and emergency aid as may be required. Instruct classes in swimming and water safety techniques. Check users for valid passes. Collect money for sale of passes. Maintain pool and spa areas in compliance with established regulations.
Compensation: $18-20/hr

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to explain and enforce safety rules and TKPOA regulations.
• Ability to calmly and effectively perform rescues and emergency care as required to prevent injury or death.
• Ability to pleasantly and tactfully interact with owners, renters and guests.
• Ability to follow oral or written directions.
• Ability to perform simple math and to receive cash and be accountable for it.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with experience in swimming and swimming instruction. Must have experience with public contact.
• Must possess a current American Red Cross CPR certificate.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Explain and enforce pool and spa regulations for safety and compliance with TKPOA regulations.
• Observe pool/spa areas to detect hazardous or life threatening conditions.
• Give assistance to anyone requiring it, including CPR and first aid.
• Issue and check recreation passes, and take proper action should passes be invalid.
• Complete safety and incident reports, and immediately advise Supervisor of incident and action taken. Advise Supervisor of any hazardous equipment or facility.
• Perform maintenance and repair as directed by the Supervisor, including testing of water and the application of chemicals.
• Remain alert at all times. Walk the facilities on a regular basis to assure the safety of all users and observers.
• Maintain a pleasant environment for users and surrounding neighbors.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
