Seasonal Summer Camp Counselor - Find My Genius

"I CAN DO THIS!” WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

• Minimum 16 years old
• Basic knowledge of acceptable child care and day camp practices.
• Demonstrates initiative to plan, lead and participate in activities.
• Certifications (must be maintained and current at all times):
• Either in person or blended learning Pediatric CPR & First Aid certifications through either: American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor / indoor settings.
• This position may require the ability to stand and / or sit for extended periods of time, wade in water in order to supervise children, able to walk continuously at least ½ mile, spend a full workday outdoors in any weather condition.

• Implement games, crafts, sports, songs and more within the established guidelines.
• Nurture children while building achievement and belonging.
• Supervise the children, classroom or site, and all activities including ADA accommodations where appropriate.
• Make ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
• Use positive reinforcement techniques to address children’s behavioral concerns.
• Encourage positive social skills and appropriate behavior by example
