Description:
MISSION
The main mission of the Secondary School Counsellor is to assist secondary school students in their search for emotional and social wellness using appropriate psychotherapeutic methods.
In order to fulfil this mission, the Counsellor conducts individual and group sessions with students in need as well as collective preventive and educational actions.
SKILLS, ABILITY AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in counselling or psychology with a specialisation or additional training in adolescent psychology and development.
- Sound experience in counselling secondary school students in an international school.
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
- French and English speaking. The candidate may have a preference to conduct the counselling sessions in either language but should be able to collaborate with staff in both languages.
DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCIES
- Certificate and practical experience in cognitive behavioural and emotional therapy, adolescent centred therapeutic approaches, theoretical and practical experience in group counselling sessions.
- Experience in implementing a well-being framework within an educational institution.
- Team supervision
Organise and conduct educational and preventive workshops as well as socio-emotional group sessions with students.

Responsibilities:
- Individual and group counselling sessions with students
Conduct individual sessions depending on the nature and severity of the situation.

Organise and conduct workshops and intervention with the academic teams and parents.
Identify fragile or at-risk students at an early stage.
- Collaboration with other health and education actors of the school
Work closely with teachers and other health and education actors of the school to take care of the students in need
Prepare and present individual and statistical reports.
Participate in a wellbeing committee to give input in terms of counselling centre organization, governance as well as overall students wellbeing.
